Atatürk's Mausoleum & dinner
Arriving in Ankara, we chilled out, and in the morning of the 9th we visited Atatürk's memorial slash mausoleum. If you don't know who he is, look him up, he a bit of a big deal over here, as the authoritarian founder of modern Turkish Republic. Then we went to the Ministry of State and talked to the Minister. Pretty sweet. That evening we went to a lovely dinner with a Georgetown graduate (SFS '73) who is now selling arms to the Turkish military. He furnished us with wonderful drinks, discussion, and Cuban cigars. We all got dresses up, and there are many good photos that I hopefully will be able to link to later.
